I can answer the first part. The Toolbox comes with a utility called
AS400ToolboxJarMaker. This utility is built to extract the files you need
to run a specific Toolbox function. Of the optional parameters, the ccsid
parm is most interesting. By default the utility includes all ebcdic to
ascii conversion tables. Some of the double byte conversion tables are
large (the five largest .class files in the toolbox are conversion tables).
So, if you don't intend to process double byte data, you can tell the
jarMaker utility to omit them making the jar smaller.

Subject: Compile toolbox for windows

Hi all,

Dont get mad at me :) but i need the following:

Create small windows executable that will use the java
toolbox data queue support with minimum finger print
on the requesting PC.(we dont want client access on
the pc).

Can i:

1. Extract data queue support from the toolbox into a
seperate jar
2. Compile my program and the toolbox portion to one
windows executable that will run on the windows
station natively and without requirement for jvm on
the windows station. That is deployment is done by
sdending the executable to the windows station.

Is this possible ? (and yes i know my request is not
in the java spirit)

Thanks in advance
