oh-oh! it's O-O! Let's see... A class is a DS. They are not external in that the requirement of the class is to hide the implementation. They are external in the idea that they are accessed through their set/get methods. This also means that the persistence (which maybe what you were after) can be any mechanism you choose and is hidden by the class (DS). So what is the equivalent of an externally described data structure from RPG in JAVA? A class. No? =========================================================== R.
