RPGLE can be multithreaded. It is explained in the ILE RPG for AS/400
Programmer's Guide and talked about in the ILE RPG for AS/400 Reference.

There are multiple ways to "fake" multi-threading. Data queues, message
queues, even data files can used. All of these rely on "waiting" for a
period of time before checking for the next piece of information until all
requests are complete.

Subject: Can we write multi threaded programs using RPG?..

Hi,
We have to develop an RPG program that has to fetch data from two
different AS/400s. Since the job that it does is exactly same in both the
machines we are thinking of writing multi threaded RPG programs so that it
can be called simultaneously. The data fetched has to be shown on to the
web. If we do data fetching one after other the browser times out as the
processing is taking more than 3 mins..
Any help would be of great use..............

Thanks and Regards,
Gururaj
