Using this method you could presumably also use the QSYS/QCMDEXC call directly via JDBC (you can use it directly via ODBC in any case). It is picky in format but should work fine. You can call it as a stored procedure or call it from a stored procedure...

The solution can be using only one via to call server programs and I think that the best is using only JDBC. You can encapsulate the non stored procedures RPG programs into CLLEs programs and then register its as sql procedures (CREATE PROCEDURE proc(...) LANGUAGE CL ... )
