JDBC problem

Hello all,
I've written a JVA pgm which does a SQL query and
fetcehs data on the QSH screen, but when I try to put
the same thing on an applet LIST, it does not connect
to the 400, I tried changeing 
c = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:db2:*local");
to 
 c =
DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:db2:"SYSTEM_NAME");
still doesnt work.
any suggestions !!!!
