You know, I had another problem report show up a couple weeks ago that was
just like this. T.java is a part of the trace functionality in the Native
JDBC driver. (It has to be found whether or not you are going to be using
tracing).

In that case, we suggested that they make sure they had the latest PTFs and
the problem went away. It is almost like something got built wrong, but we
put every JDBC PTF we build through about 6000 testcases that test every
function for regression problems and we never saw any problems along the
way (certainly no problems with code not being found at startup).

I would suggest you put one of our latest PTF on the system.
(5769JV1-SF60735) is a good choice. But please do one thing for me first.
Please provide me with a list of the PTFs you currently have on the system
for the JV1 product so that I can dig into this a little further. You need
to get that list before putting the latest on so that superceeded PTFs will
not be in the list. You can send that to me directly. If I learn
something specific, I will pass it along to the group.

I hope this helps to resolve your issue. Please stay in touch with me
(again, you can e-mail me directly) so that we know that we get this
resolved.

Subject: switching from toolbox to native DB2 JDBC drivers

I am attempting to switch a server app (servlet running under websphere
2.02) on our AS/400 (JDK 1.1.7) over from using the toolbox JDBC drivers to
the native DB2 drivers.

The connection manager is unable to open a connection.

If I use the Toolbox instead of the DB2 native drivers, then I do not get
any of these problems.
I tried adding /QIBM/ProdData/Java400/jdk117/db2_classes.jar to my class
path in the bootstrap props but that did not seem to make a difference (I
think they already in the system classpath which is set to be used).

If anyone knows what I am doing wrong, or how to correct this, please let
me
know! Thanks!

TIA,
Luther
