Hi Tom/Joel,

Thanks for valuable answers. I have followed instructions to load AS/400
toolbox for java on my CD and loaded them. I have added the toolbox to my
workspace.

After running the same peace of code 

DriverManager.registerDriver(new com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver())

it shows up "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError.

Does it mean that I will have to load the toolbox once again or there is
something more to be done.

I don't know the exact address at IBM but if you go to www.zappie.net/java
you should be able to find the links to get the IBM Toolbox for the AS/400.
Follow the extract instructions and you should be OK.
