Hi Victor,
Even though u are running the applet from the PC, the web browser will not be able to recognise the AS/400 classes. U can overcome this by specifying archive="the complete path of the jar files containing the AS/400 classes" in the Applet tag.

Subject: help with applets...
hi all,
I am working on an V4R2 and relatively new to java.
I am trying to access data from the as400 and display them using
applets.
Problem is the program is working fine with a main method but when
called from an applet gives
me an error "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/ibm/as400/access/AS400"
while
connecting to the database. It gives this error while using any of the
AS400 classes.
I have the toolbox installed on my pc and running the applet on my pc
itself.
Any suggestions??????
thanks,
victor
