I have to ask the obvious, is Swing 1.0.3 in your CLASSPATH? Since you are using the old Swing names, you need the Swing 1.0.3 package. This does not come with Java 2. Only the new Swing names come with Java 2 (if you are using Java 2 you should swing to the new names). David Wall 553-5329 AS/400 Toolbox for Java BILL@Blumenthalprintworks.com on 08/26/99 03:26:12 PM Please respond to JAVA400-L@midrange.com To: JAVA400-L@midrange.com cc: Subject: NoClassDefFound I am trying to instantiate a class which extends JFrame, which extends JRootPane. I get: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.sun.java.swing.JRootPane I am importing com.sun.java.swing.*, as evidenced by the fact that I don't error out on JFrame. As such, I can't figure out why it seems to be having trouble finding JRootPane, which is in the same package. Any ideas?
