Hello everyone.
Any comments, suggestions or concerns about the following project would
be greatly appreciated.
I'm new to web serving on the AS/400, so I need to find out as much as I
can about
the feasibility of this project. We have an existing interactive RPG
application that
supports about 50 users. The project is to create a GUI front end to
replace the
existing RPG green screens. After a pilot project using Java swing, it
was decided
that requiring the Java plug-in would not be feasible at this time.
Additionally,
getting the As/400 Toolbox for Java to the remote client (customers) was
a concern.
The following solution was proposed:
1) Client - Developed using HTML 4.0 and JavaScript (IE 4.0
compatibility)
2) Server - Java servlets on an AS/400 model 510 at v4r3
Does anyone have any thoughts on the feasibility of this project and are
there any
issues (like performance) that I need to be aware of. Thank you for any
assistance.
