  • Subject: Why CLASSPATH behave so strange?
  • From: Ioachim@xxxxxxx

Hello,

I am trying to run my first java program, surprise-surprise Hello.class, which
I uploaded into a directory TEMP on AS/400. Then I do WRKENVVAR and do not
find any variables. So, I create CLASSPATH and give it the value '.' (as they
recommend on a web-site). Then I do CD /TEMP and get the answer that the
current directory really changed. STRSQH and java Hello. But it says it cannot
read Hello.class. If I do java /TEMP/Hello, then it is OK. Why this CLASSPATH
do not have effect.

Another question is why when I close the AS400 session and open it again, I do
not find this CLASSPATH variable !?

Thank you.

Joe
