The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Any program can be called from a Rich UI program. The best way is to
wrap the program in an EGL library function and expose it as a service
(either SOAP or REST, although REST is my preference). Then in your
Rich UI you just define the service using an interface and invoke it
using a @RESTBinding. All-in-all, maybe 10 lines of code.
There are some caveats to calling service programs vs. standard bound
ILE programs, primarily due to the limitations of the JT400 service
program call class, which in turn is limited by the i5/OS generic call
interface. You can only have seven parameters, and the return from the
called procedure can only be an integer. But as long as you design your
interfaces to use a few data structures rather then dozens of individual
parameters, you're good to go.
