Let me take one of our larger Domino systems.
% of Size in
Description Disk 1,000,000 bytes
User libraries 6.83 176063.86
User directories 61.35 1580991.14
Folders and documents .00 .11
QSYS .30 7770.80
Other IBM libraries 1.18 30461.20
Licensed Internal Code .10 2504.62
Temporary space 1.13 29183.20
Unused space 28.78 741667.68
System internal objects .02 537.53
Objects not in a library .00 .02
QTEMP libraries .00 20.73
TOTAL 99.69 2569200.89

Most of the disk is in IFS. Almost all of that is Domino.
1.58TB

According to DSPLOGBRM, and just the IFS part of it:
3/08/25 9:07:57 Starting save of list *LINK to devices *MEDDFN.
3/08/25 9:33:28 419065 objects saved.
3/08/25 9:34:07 Save of list *LINK complete.
So, 1.58TB in 26 minutes isn't bad
Power 10.
All disk is SAN based NVMe on an IBM FS7300. Hosted via vios.
Tape is a DD6900 VTL.
And, with BRMS I can tell it to save to 4 tape drives (which are all
virtual BTW) in that VTL simultaneously. Hence the messages like
3/08/25 9:33:28 1459783 blocks processed for sequence 77, volume I70346,
3/08/25 9:33:28 1465796 blocks processed for sequence 35, volume I70347,
3/08/25 9:33:28 1496610 blocks processed for sequence 45, volume I70348,
3/08/25 9:33:28 1499020 blocks processed for sequence 23, volume I70349,
3/08/25 9:33:28 Media file 1 of 4 information.
3/08/25 9:33:28 Media file 2 of 4 information.
3/08/25 9:33:28 Media file 3 of 4 information.
3/08/25 9:33:28 Media file 4 of 4 information.
So basically it flipping screams.
And, since I'm using BRMS, I can easily do a WRKLNKBRM
DIR('/QUALITY/NOTES/DATA') pick what date/time I want to restore and it
loads up the tape and restores it.

I have done bare metal restores from these backups doing system
migrations. 100% confident.

Oh, and I also have flash copies of that system automatically performed
twice a day I can restore to a dummy lpar and piece through that in case of
attack.

Domino backup question What is the fastest way to perform a Backup on
Domino? Currently we backup the IFS Folder /NOTES, and this takes quite
awhile [2+ hours].Does anyone know the fastest way to back this up? My
objective is to have Domino [i.e. Email] down for the shortest time during
the backup. Is there a way to perform a Domino backup while the Domino
server is still running? Is this the only thing that should be backed up on
a Daily basis? Are there any URLs that could help me to make sure I am
getting a complete backup [one that has all of the objects needed to run
our email on another IBM i server]?Thank you,Doug"CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE:
