I would use the "Other Internet" address and put their O365 address in it.
It will then "forward" to that address and not create a mail file.

Let's say someone needs access to Notes because of workflow stuff assigned
to them.
Let's say they also do not use Notes/Domino for their email. In our case
they would be using Office 365.
When registering them the choices are:
IBM Notes
POP
IMAP
IBM iNotes
