Thanks Steve - yes, I should have been more pressing about it. But let me
put it this way...

If you would not have hesitated to put 8.5.4 onto your system, then you
shouldn't hesitate to put 9.0 on it.

There was enough in 8.5.4 to warrant it being a .0 release (mostly on the
Client side - the new look for the Notes Client is nice!), but there are
many server goodies and fixes you will want.

If you're on i, you don't have to run 9.0 on all of your DPAR's either. If
you have a dedicated DPAR for Quickr, leave it on the "officially
supported" Domino release. Same for Sametime, etc... Otherwise, load 9.0.

Thanks,
Chris

Sad to say Rob, but Quickr is dead. They just haven't buried it yet. It
will be supported for a few years but it's file management functionality
has moved into Connections Content Manager. Newly announced Connections
support on IBM i and existing Quickr customer entitlement to Connections
Content Manager (with migration tools being made available) is a path
forward for us.

Domino 9 is rock solid. Like Chris said it's built off the 8.5.4 code
stream. 8.5.4 CD5 beta became 9. I'm using it for Traveler on IBM i and
have had no issues.

I don't put any stock into that support matrix. It would be really nice
if it were updated regularly, in a living document instead of a static
PDF.

I won't be rushing to 9 anytime soon. Unless it coexists well with other
servers. We have some other products mentioned in this:

http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/resources/systems_power_ibmi_lotus_releasesupport.pdf

which hasn't been updated since November of 2011 (eleven).

Of course, that says that Quickr only runs on 8.5.1. If so then why does
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27020499
say:

NOTE: With the introduction of Fix Pack 34 and later, IBM adds maintenance

for two sets of fix packs differentiated by the Domino version on which
Quickr runs:

one fix pack set for Domino server 8.5.3 FP1
one fix pack set for Domino server 8.5.1 FP5

Who maintains that compatibility guide? Is there some way to get the
compatibility guide to lend credence to 27020499?

We just installed 8.5.3 FP3 over the weekend, we were on FP2.

We install Power (a.k.a. AS/400, iSeries) cumulative PTF packages
quarterly, and if there is a Domino update available we install it as well

so we stay up to date on patches & fixes.

If FP4 is released in April we'll install it in May when we do our next
quarterly updates.

Even if 9.0 is released in March we'll probably wait for the first fix
pack or 9.1 because we did not have a very good experience with 8.0 when
it was first released.

I saw someone else heard 9 is suppose to be more stable than a typical .0
release, but we're not going to take any chances based on our previous
experience.
