I believe the load convert -l outfile.ind is what you are looking for.

Thanks. I kinda figured that. How does one initially populate those
indirect files?
STRQSH CMD('ls /archive1/notes/data/*.nsf

/archive1/notes/data/listnsf.ind')

is close.

How do I tell it to do both .nsf and .ntf?

How do I tell it to do subdirectories also?
