subject: How to upgrade the embedded sametime client.
I am running an 8.5.2 community server on IBM i 7.1. My laptop is running
Notes 8.5.3 on Windows 7. When I start a embedded sametime client chat
the help about says I am using an 8.5.1 sametime embedded client. I would
like to know how to do so. Starting out simple, like
- Which package on Passport Advantage would have the embedded sametime
8.5.2 client?
- Is that something I roll out to each Notes client or is that just
something I put on the server (like the download for the connect client)?
I suspect the former.
- If I do it for each client is it just something I put into the directory
for my Notes Smart Upgrade?
I normally use Smart Upgrade to upgrade Notes clients. I have some
creative views on my names.nsf to identify installed base.
I have 61 users who are enrolled in Notes but have never fired up their
client.
I only have one user who used 8.5.1FP5 but it was an IBMer who did a VPN
connection to audit for best practices. His problem, not mine.
I have 86 users running 8.5.2 client.
14 users running 8.5.2FP1
14 users running 8.5.2FP2
146 users running 8.5.2FP3
134 users running 8.5.3
Been awhile since we've done a big push with Smart Upgrade. Boss has been
wanting me to take it easy on the help desk cleaning up the installs that
don't go quite so well.
