I am going with each paragraph below was a separate solution. Let me know
if I'm wrong.

The first solution was to stop allowing everyone from being able to see
the person's calendar. I think I clearly explained as to why I do not
want to do that.

The second was that if I modified the template to flag meetings created by
that person to be private by default then I need to
a - be aware that wouldn't change existing meetings
b - make sure that a design refresh, or a later upgrade doesn't remove
that flag for meetings created after the upgrade.

But, if I read that wrong and you were trying to say something else, I'd
love to hear more.
