Evaluated it and had a demo. I thought we would go that direction as soon
as I heard about it, but the more questions we asked the more we found that
we would lose. There are many things we could not do that we need.
Namely, they didn't have IMAP or POP3 access if you were using a Notes
client. They also had no API at all, and their so called "collaboration"
tool was lacking We needed the ability to write programs to the hosted
solution. It boiled down to the fact that Google gave us that capability
and lotuslive.com did not.

Quite frankly, I was disappointed that IBM's solution was not better
because the migration would have been MUCH easier.

You did know that you can have your Notes mail in a cloud, too, didn't
you? It's called LotusLive and provides a wealth of options for you.

Browser access, Notes Client access, smartphone, etc. I believe it is a
whopping $5/user/month for 25GB of space, plus BlackBerry support, and
more. I believe that there is a migration path from your iSeries to the
IBM cloud, too.

To further reduce your costs, you can run Lotus Symphony for your office
productivity suite, which is free. Later this year, I believe that IBM
will be putting Symphony in the cloud, so you can share docs without an
on-premises server.
