Recertify Failure

I searched the archives and domino forum but am unable to find a
solution/suggestion to the following problem.

I have one user who appears in Certificate Expiration as expiring within
30 days so I took the option Recertify Selected People (something I've
done hundreds of times), but for some unknown reason I see an entry in the
Misc Log stating:

Admin Process: Received the following error performing a Recertify Person
in Domino Directory request on Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx/Pulmonary/TCI. User name
not found in Domino Directory Will try to process this request again at
02/01/2010 10:05:53.

And the user remains in the Certificate Expiration/within 30 days view.

This have been going on for about a week and last month alone I
recertified almost 30 other users without problem.

I can see this person in the domino directory and send email to them too
but cannot get this one person recertified. Running 8.0.1 on V5R4.

I'm stumped. Compact & fixup on the domino directory? Or ????
