Out of frustration for "a simple step by step to start encryption between
one of our people and an outside person?", we gave up and are now
exploring Trend Micro Email Encryption Gateway.
One of my users received an encrypted email sent via this tool. It appears
to handle certificate generation and exchange between users and seems to
be the most stress free way to roll it out to users. We have requested a
trial but haven't done any more than read the stuff on their website.
I tried the digital certificate route but too many external users didn't
have a certificate to complete the exchange.
