If you're using Java, make sure the DIIOP service is running on the
remote server. If you're using the Domino Java API calls that is
required I believe.

subject: Error in connecting to a Remote Domino Server from iSeries.
Hi,
We have an application running on iSeries, which connects to a remote
Domino Server using Java Program.
Recently there was a change in IP of the remote Domino server and now
while running the Java Program we are getting the following error.
lotus.notes.NotesException: Password or other security violation for
database
at java.lang.Throwable.<init>(Throwable.java:195)
at java.lang.Exception.<init>(Exception.java:41)
at lotus.notes.NotesException.<init>(NotesException.java:29)
at lotus.notes.Session.NgetDatabase(Native Method)
at lotus.notes.Session.getDatabase(Session.java:524)
at LeaverServerDQ?NotesJ1.runNotes(LeaverServerDQ.java:75)
at lotus.notes.NotesThread.run(NotesThread.java:139)
We have the ID file for the Remote Domino Server saved in /notes/data
and
we are using the correct password.
and we are able to connect the server by running the same program in
windows system.
Do we need to do any configuration settings in iSeries side like
creating
a Cross Certificate for the Remote Server?
If required, please help us with the Procedure.
Thanks,
