I hadn't reported it but I have and have to gather the bits they need.

I will IPL twice.

We run Trend on all our Domino servers, Sametime and Quickr. Just did it that way.

You did report this to Trend, didn't you? I'd hate to be down some day
with the same problem.

Oh, and since you ran ENDJOBABN the next time you IPL to apply PTF's you
will have to IPL twice. ENDJOBABN will flag the first IPL as an "Abnormal
IPL" and only MF* ptf's will be applied. You will need to IPL a second
time to get your SI* ptf's to apply. Repeat, don't verify with simply
DSPPTF without entering once to get past the MF* ptf's and on to your SI*
ptf's. See also WRKPTFGRP.

Do you run a dedicated domino server for Sametime? If so does Trend on
that server really do any good? We run trend on all servers that contain
email or databases that routinely get attachments (like engineering change
notices). But I haven't thought of running it on my sametime server. But
now that I think about it the full web Sametine thing does handle
attachments unlike the simple chat tool.

ENDJOBABN has done the job.

Now you mention this command I vaguely remember using it. But that was
many,
many years ago.

Thanks

Hi,

Running Domino 8.0.2 on V5R4

Couldn't log on to Sametime. Checked console and saw this message:

05/30/2009 22:53:02 Directory Assistance failed opening Primary Domino

Dire
ctory names.nsf, error: This database is currently in use by another
person o
r process, and cannot be accessed at this time. In order to share a
Notes
da
tabase, it must be accessed via a Domino Server by all users of the
database.

I shutdown and started the server and got the same message. Shut it down

again and did a 9 in WRKDOMSVR for the server and it still showed all
the
jobs still running. They weren't ending but all just running as if
nothing
was wrong.

Went into SBS and ended the SBS *IMMED (I am impatient). Everything
ended
except 3 x Trend tasks. SMDEMF, SMDMON and SMDREAL. They are in an end
status but will not end. I tried each job individually and tried to end
*IMMED but they won't budge.

How can I end the SBS or these Trend jobs?

I will be putting an edited version of this message on the Midrange list

on how to kill the SBS forcefully too.

TIA

Nathan
