Well I never liked preview until I started using the "preview on side" in Notes 8... Don't be a hater!! :)

Rob,

Duplicate the problem with the LotusScript debugger turned on. Just
use it to find the server template sub containing the code that's
generating the error message and then compare it to the same sub in
the client template. You should be able to spot the problem and apply
a fix to your server template and be up and running pretty quick.

I'd do it myself, but we are still running R7 (our PC's don't have
the horsepower for R8). If you need a hand, feel free to email me the
text of the offending sub.

BTW, I also hate the preview pane. ;)

Personally I don't like the preview pane but others here do so I tried it.
When all my users using 8.0.2 client (CCH2 or raw) and the mail 8
template try to use the preview pane they are getting "Object variable not
set" messages.
Doing a File, Application, Replace design using the server based template
makes no difference. However, if you use the client based Mail 8 template
then the "Object variable not set" messages disappear.
Can someone else duplicate this so that I can tell IBM it's not that I've
modified the template - it's because the server template and the client
template differ?
