Summary: Is there something in Domino to just try the first MX record
associated with a server it will it alternate between records?
Details:
One particular server, running Domino 7.0.3 on V6R1 of i, has a few emails
in it's mail#.box files. Since we use dedicated dpars for smtp I bounced
it. Some of these recipients are generating:
06/16/2008 14:10:53 Router: No messages transferred to MERCY.NAVY.MIL
(host
mail.fleet.NAVY.MIL) via SMTP: The server is not responding. The server
may
be down or you may be experiencing network problems. Contact your system
admi
nistrator if this problem persists.
06/16/2008 14:10:53 Router: Transferring mail to domain
GOPHERELECTRONICS.C
OM (host mail.GOPHERELECTRONICS.COM [64.122.37.59]) via SMTP
06/16/2008 14:10:54 Router: Transferred 1 messages to
GOPHERELECTRONICS.COM
(host mail.GOPHERELECTRONICS.COM) via SMTP
06/16/2008 14:10:58 Router: Message 005F8D2A transferred to
mail.GOPHERELEC
TRONICS.COM for tammy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx via SMTP
06/16/2008 14:10:58 Router: No messages transferred to GRABILLBANK.COM
(hos
t mail.GRABILLBANK.COM) via SMTP: The server is not responding. The server
ma
y be down or you may be experiencing network problems. Contact your system
ad
ministrator if this problem persists.
zmailer.org is showing some connection errors. Hit or miss. And the
first server for each domain is pretty much a miss. Is there something in
Domino to try the other servers or does it stay with just the first? For
example, mail.GRABILLBANK.COM is the first of three MX servers for Grabill
bank.
