What you refer to is the order I've always done it. The template
associated with the mail file is not changed just because the server's been
upgraded. The server will continue to maintain both templates (new and
old) as long as you need it to.

You didn't mention what versions you are moving between, but for me here,
the transition between 6 and 7 has been pretty mild -- in the instances
where a mail file was upgraded before the client, the users did not
generally even notice unless they tried to access their preferences from
the action bar. Going from 5 to 6, however, was much more traumatic if we
got it wrong.

Hope that helps,
Patrick

Hi,

I have read this somewhere previously but can't find it anywhere now.

What order should Domino and Notes be installed?

I thought I read in the past that you should update your Admin Client then
the server and then you clients. But doing it this way should you remove
the
'Design' task from notes.ini so the mail files aren't updated before the
clients? Or have I go this all wrong.

What is the best order to install clients and server.

Thanks
