I think you are seeing the 'duplicates' and new entries coming in (even
though you haven't recertified anyone) based on ID changes the users are
triggering (like password changes, etc.).

I have a Password Recovery mail-in database that I recently started to
review and clean up as it contains documents from individual users (with
id file attachments named ~~tmpid.ide) as well as documents from our
retiring network/email admin (also with id file attachments for specific
users).
There are many documents in the database, and many appear to be duplicates
based on the user names specified in either the Who column or in the
Subject column.
I've been trying to clean this up by moving the older duplicates into a
separate folder for the duplicates/old documents (and I also put documents
in here for users who are no longer here), with the goal of only having
one document for each notes user, (and that document being the most
recently dated one).
But when I open this database today I see that I have 26 new entries in
the inbox view. (Yesterday there were 83 new entries in the inbox.) I
haven't recertified anyone for at least a month so I'm wondering why/how
is this database getting populated with new entries? Can anyone enlighten
me?
I know that these temp id files can only be used to extract a recovery
password. But also is there anyway that they can be used as a true id file
in the event that a pc crash results in the loss of an id file? (We do
keep backups of the id files elsewhere but if these temp id's are usable,
then I'd prefer to only have to maintain them in one place).
And lastly I'm seeing that some person documents contain ID files in them
while others do not. What causes this inconsistency? I've heard in the
past that id files shouldn't be stored in the person document, but I
suspect that is a requirement for web users.
