If you are NOT using BRMS, you gain nothing, if you are using BRMS, the
restore is easier to manage via ops nav.

It's not major but isn't the restore server a bit of overhead? I
I'm trying to think of what I gain compared to a orphaned file

IBM would recommend a restore server (Domino instance) on the same
system,
which is never started, The file system ownership for that server could

be modified.
