I have a pmr open with IBM on this, 55622 branch 500. Apparently this
situation is quite common. That being true, you'd hope they'd have a
solution for it.
They used some web program to get on to my PC and looked at my joblog from
the install, etc. No problems there. I did not have WRKDOMSVR locked in
any way, shape or form during the install. They were going to try setting
up an upgrade from 6.5.4 to 7.0.2 at their office and see if they could
duplicate the situation. This is my third lpar I've upgraded. On the
other two lpar's I deleted 6.5.4 as soon as I completed the upgrade to
7.0.2 and had no problems. However, on this lpar the boss wants me to not
upgrade two of the dpars because the software on them is dated. Bad
enough they won't work with the 7.0.1 client (massive java errors) he's
afraid they may not work with the rest of the 6 clients because of 7
server errors. He's duplicating the data on to one of the current 7
servers to see if that's a valid concern.
It's a purchased application that we let support lapse because we aren't
that impressed with it.
