Hi Rob,

Have you received any official explanation from Trend on the Trend problem 
( caused by pattern file multiple times). Also , have Trend given any 
official statement about this incident on their web-site.

How many dpars do you have on the one iSeries lpar?  I suspect that their 
support for that is lacking.  Remember in 2.6 they kept the virus pattern 
files in each dpar's directory.  Now they are stored in one central 
directory.  Really helps to save on space, especially if you have 11 dpars 

like me.  However if two dpars kick in SMDupd at the same time I "suspect" 

data corruption may occur.  I have a long drawn out process for fixing 
this situation.
