Seriously though.  How about looking through the options of your IM
application?  If there isn't an "option" option, then look in
"preferences".  I'm sure there's something there that will allow you to
turn off the sound.  If all else falls try contacting the support team for
that IM application rather than posting a topic to this group that has
absolutely nothing to do with the group.  <-- that's not meant to be nasty.
