Actually, 700 MB is the "breakpoint". Also, it's more dependent on the 
number of documents and not necessarily the mail file size along with how 
many documents are in the "Inbox" as opposed to other folders. Our 
performance isn't bad - especially since archiving a LOT of mail. We have 
about 140GB on our archive server.

No quotas here!

But we are now archiving all mail over 1 year old using Domino's 

archiving

methods. We have a Linux Domino server mounting a NetApp NFS share to
store the mail. Even with that we still have a good many mail files over 

1

and 2 GB and even a 3GB file!

I just want to get a consensus of what others are using for email

quotas.

We are currently using email quotas for all of our users but I want to
know if we are being to constrictive. I get calls daily wanting me to
increase quotas, or the "can you compact my mail database?". I do have
compact programs running nightly, but as most of you are aware....

ignore the warnings, until they hit the wall of not being able to

schedule

new calendar items, or not being able to save to the sent folder 

etc...

What is a good standard database quota limit? I know there will always

be

exceptions to the rule but I need a starting point.
