Look in the Designer Help under the following terms:

RichTextStyle class -- for changing fonts and characteristics
RichTextParagraphStyle class -- for spacing control

Code examples are provided in the Help docs, the only necessary change in 
the example code would be to use a doc.send rather than(or in addition to) 
the doc.save

The only experience we have is to send an email to the user with standard 
SMTP-java classes.

I tried to use the 'html' option but end up with the complete html-source 
send as text.  Most probably because of the SMTP-usage. 

Any references/examples to/for the usage of the 'domino objects (text 
fields) are welcome.
Same applies for an example to create an 'html'-formatted mail.
