Fix pack 1 for Domino 7.0.1 to follow soon - If you have already upgraded to IBM Lotus Domino version 7, please disregard this section regarding release 6.5.5. - If you are using IBM Lotus Domino version 6.5.5, read the linked material in detail and consider applying fix pack 1 on your Domino servers as soon as possible. - If you are using a prior version of IBM Lotus Domino (6.5.4 or earlier), please read this note and consider upgrading to 6.5.5 FP1 or 7.0.1, when it can fit into your plans. You can access Domino 6.5.5 FP1 and view its content via these links: Title: Lotus Domino 6.5.5 Fix Pack 1 (FP1) is available Link: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24012329 Title: Information about Lotus Domino 6.5.5 Fix Pack 1 Link: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=463&uid=swg21237732 Title: Notes/Domino Fix List [view of 6.5.5 FP1] Link: http://www.lotus.com/ldd/r5fixlist.nsf/Public?OpenView&Start=1&Count=30&Expand=5#5 The corresponding fix pack 1 for Domino 7.0.1 is close to completion. Although fix packs don't have public target dates, you can see at the URL below that 7.0.1 FP1 has reached at least stage 4 in the preparation process (as of mid June 2006), which is the Gold Candidate build submitted for final testing and verification, and is estimated to become available later this month: Title: Notes/Domino Fix List [view of 7.0.1 FP1] Link: http://www.lotus.com/ldd/r5fixlist.nsf/(Progress)/701%20FP1 Advantages of fix packs: By providing a small number of fixes, customers are able to accept fewer code changes with lower risk, allowing you to patch an older Maintenance Release until a more extensive upgrade to the current Maintenance Release is possible. Fix Packs can be downloaded from the Web, but will not be distributed on CD. While Fix Packs provide important fixes, and IBM strongly recommends applying the latest Fix Pack available for a Maintenance Release, IBM still recommends that customers upgrade to the latest Maintenance Release (currently 7.0.1) plus Fix Pack combination, to receive the broadest set of fixes available. You will receive more overall fixes with a later Maintenance Release plus Fix Pack than with a set of Fix Packs on top of an earlier Maintenance Release.
