Eric,

Index or Update runs on the address book all the time. You would see
semaphores for Update job
frequently.

If you are looking for a timing or cycle, you should log the update
intervals.
LOG_UPDATE=1 in the notes.ini

I would also start more than one update job, especially for servers with
large databases.

UPDATERS=3  in the notes.ini

AS far as VOIP and CISCO Unity with DUCS etc, until they solve the issue
with
mail file replicas I would not use it, since we keep a cluster with two
copies of everyone's mail file
for High Availability.

We have the CISCO phones, and I have been working on programming LDAP
and Web Services for the Phones. I don't like the interface on the Cisco
Phones since it only accepts
very limited XML via POST/GET for Address book look-up's etc, ever the
COLOR phones.

The technology is so 1998.

I can't wait for Sametime 7.5 with SKYPE...........!!! WoHo now we are
cooking with gas.

Very interesting one which I am currently working with IBM support.

ND6.0.5 on V5R3. Every couple of mins, the server will start popping
semaphores on names.nsf from the server job for 30-60 seconds and then
free. Cycle just keeps repeating. Been doing this the whole day and
maybe even all day yesterday. You know how it goes, users complain server

is slow, you check it and it is fine. User is wrong - guess not this
time. Good thing is that the server really never goes down, the bad thing

is it is a nuisance.

Nothing running on the address book. No backups running. Everything
seems fine.

Anyone every see something like this. Thanks in advance.

We're looking at VOIP vendors and are also getting learned up on Unified
Messaging and such. Cisco's Unity unified messaging is supposed to
integrate with Lotus Domino. Is anyone out there using such a setup? If
so, can it be done with purely iSeries based Domino servers?

I would say that it should work with iSeries, since I have a client that
is
running it on AIX. :-)

It is a very cool product, and the users love it.

We have DUCS (Domino Unity Connection Services) running on a Windows
Domino server for this. Have a small group of test people running their
email on this server to test this. Theory is that they should not have
their mail replicated to any other server. I forget why. I am not one of

the test people as I won't put all my eggs in the window basket. Been
talking to the highest levels of IBM System i management to get this on
the i. Not getting anywhere fast. Submit a DCR.
