Can this be done?
Is it a bad thing?

Situation: Boss wants to:
a - Retain mailboxes from terminated employees for a duration
b - Server wide archiving of old mail

Doing it on primary server will not decrease time to backup. Also will
not reduce usage of disk on that primary server. Boss has determined that
he can purchase a new Linux server with 500GB for less than the cost of
one 140GB iSeries drive.

Instead of running Domino itself on Linux what about creating a new Domino
partition on the iSeries. Pretend that it's data directory looks
something like /ARCHIVE01/notes/data.
After setting up the server then I do the following i5/os commands:
ADDLNK OBJ('/qntc/MyLinuxServer/AShareCalledArchive')
NEWLNK('/ARCHIVE01/notes/data/archive')

... pause to do some testing...

Discovered some "anomalies" with this and opened up a pmr. Apparently the
use of QNTC with symbolic links is unsupported. I asked if there was a
NFS mount or some such animal that I could use instead of QNTC and IBM
said they'd up the problem and get back to me.

Let's say that IBM does get back to me and the NFS stuff is supported.
Will this still not work for Domino because of a QNOTES access issue or
some such animal?
