The iSeries directory service is probably started by default on v5r3. Issue this command and see if it ends the Domino error message: ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*DIRSRV) I believe you will have to go into iSeries Navigator to turn this off by default (I couldn't find it quickly in CFGTCP...) Expand your server in iSeries Nav Expand the Network option Expand Servers Click on TCP/IP Right-click IBM Directory Server and see if you can go into Properties.
