One alternative to IPLing.
Use iSeries Navigator.  There's a special section called Application 
Development, then Interprocess Communication.  IF your Domino servers are 
all down, then you can blast any kernels, semaphore sets and shared memory 
owned by QNOTES.  I think you're still on some version of Domino 5. 
Directory sync goes away.  You might as well turn it off now.  And 
remember to upgrade to Domino 6 before trying to put on V5R3.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update - ending the Domino server and then doing an IPL
worked. Everything seems to be working fine this morning.

Thanks for all your help. I guess I'll be getting more involved in this
area (the guy who was doing it has left the company), and it looks like I
have a lot to learn. . . .
