ENDJOBABN worked. You're right, it's not Windows. However, in earlier
versions of Notes, if the application development part of iSeries
Navigator didn't clean it up, an IPL was pretty much necessary. ENDJOBABN
does have an adverse affect on your next IPL. MF ptf's still get applied
but not SI ptf's.

Since it was a Dedicated Server for Domino, and that was it's only task -
to run Domino; and Domino was dying, I figured what the heck; I'll IPL it.
That way, I wouldn't have to remember to double IPL it the next time I
applied ptf's.

These DSD's really were a great deal. Tried to talk the boss into dumping
it and putting it on our new 520. He said the maintenance is so low on
the DSD he can't see parting with it. The 520 is REALLY underutilized.
Originally it was to replace an 820. And it's doing a fantastic job at
that. (More specifics available upon request.) But now he wants to move
the only application running on the 520 on to a partition on our new 570.
What will be left on the 520, (really loaded) will be two IXS cards -
that's it. He's hoping to convince management to get Mimix lite. We're
already planning on moving the 520 offsite.

Did you not try end abnormal on the QNOTES JOBs?

IPL is a little extreme, this is not Windows after all.

Got a domino server that just won't die. Not even with *IMMED. Used
iSeries Navigator Application Development to clear out any Kernel message
queues and semaphore sets associated with QNOTES, and 'most' shared memory

associated with qnotes. However there are some shared memory that the
delete option is greyed out.

figure this has something to do with the Trend fixpack I am trying to put
on to resolve this.

V5R3
Domino 6.0.3
Trend 2.6SP1. Need fixpack 1584.

Subsystem/Job User Type CPU % Function Status
DOMINO01 QSYS SBS .0 END
  HTTP QNOTES BCI .0 END

Will IPL. If it keeps this up after the trend fix pack I will call
IBM/Lotus.

Ok,

I have a system configured with controlling subsystem equal to QBASE. This

is a DSD and has no traditional interactive or batch jobs.

When I start the Domino servers all at once it pretty much comes to a
crawl.

QSYSOPR shows:
CPF0908-Machine ineligible condition threshold reached.
CPF0909-Ineligible condition threshold reached for pool 02.

DSPSYSSTS

Sys Pool Reserved Max ----DB----- --Non-DB--- Act- Wait-

System value QPFRADJ is set to 2=Adjustment at IPL and automatic
adjustment.

So now a new DSPSYSSTS shows:

Under WRKDOMSVR we have nine servers on this box.

I know that QPFRADJ will only adjust so much and only at certain
intervals. I thought about doing either a CHGSHRPOOL *BASE, or a CHGSBSD
QBASE to change activity levels or something right prior to the starting
of the Domino servers.
