Domino 6.5.1 and new URL parameter passing limit

We just upgraded to Domino 6.5.1 (from 6.5.0) and discovered a long
running Domino order entry application no longer works.  Domino 6.5.1
introduced a new restriction on the number of parameters that can be
passed with a URL (it's now only 32).  Yes, we should have discovered
with testing, but we didn't!!
 
We're faced with a substantial application modification if this
restriction isn't removed.  
 
Two questions:  
 
First, does anyone else face this problem?  If so, don't install 6.5.1
and call your Lotus contacts to ask that it get fixed.
 
Second, is it possible to move back to 6.5.0 from 6.5.1?  That could be
a quick fix, but there isn't much information out there since 6.5.1 is
quite new. Doesn't seem very likely based on what we've learned so far.
