Ending the Domino SBS will wreak havoc with any DB's that are currently
open. Observe the Domino console after a hard crash and see how many DB's
need a consistency check compared to how many need a consistency check
after a normal shutdown.

PM ENDDOMSVR versus Ending Subsystem
Please respond to
Lotus Domino on
the iSeries /
AS400
<domino400@midran

I have been asked if there is a difference between ending the Domino
server with ENDDOMSVR and just ending the Domino subsystem. If they are
both graceful and soft and end the Domino server in the same manner. I
have never been asked that, since I always tell them to do the ENDDOMSVR
and that ending the subsystem is something to do as a last resort. Maybe
I was wrong. Any insight into this?
Thanks.
Gregg
