Adding a user to the directory for LDAP only

We want to add users to our directory for external Quickplace people.  We 
do not want these people to be used for email.  For example, if I add a 
user to names.nsf, when I search the address book for emailing I do not 
want to find this person  However if I try to log in as this person using 
Quickplace and LDAP I do want to find this person.

Is there such a way?
