An important thing to remember is that an upgrade of one server in your
domain might very well affect the rest of the servers in your domain. For
example, upgrading the NAB on one server may replicate it's changes to the
rest of your nab's. Then you'll try something like restoring to an
earlier version. Which get's clobbered again because now one of the other
servers will replicate it's changes back to that database. The same thing
may hold true for templates, etc. If you haven't customized the nab, mail
templates, personal address book templates, started using Fax for Domino
for iSeries, etc, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Generally though, we just rely on the backup from the night before when we
apply an upgrade. The nightly backup drops the domino servers before
doing the save of the ifs.

Why are you using Visions to mirror your Domino servers to a backup
instead of using Domino's clustering?

Sorry, a Domino upgrade. From 5.0.8 to 5.0.10.

What kind of upgrade are you talking about? OS, Domino, what?

What do you guys back up before installing an upgrade? We have gone to
using
ODS and OMS from Visions to mirror most of our machine to another 400, so
we
don't back up this 400 any more. I'm a little worried about upgrading,
because some of my upgrade experiences have not been so smooth.

Also, does the upgrade to 5.0.10 fix some of the problems in iNotes Web
Access?
Mike E.
