Hello, Actually you are talking about two separate things here which are: - The design (ie template....) - The ODS (= on disk structure... the 'format' of the file Both of these are independant and have nothing to do with each other. (A database with R4 design may be R5 ODS and vice versa) That said, Lotus usually recommends going to ODS41 (R5) because it's supposedly more efficient. To do that, just launch a compact (type load compact on the server's console) of the respective databases. Upon the first compact the databases will automatically be converted to R5 ODS except for those that couldn't be compacted. (like names.nsf which is always in use and can only be compacted with the server being down...) Just as for the design of the AB and other databases, it is up to you whether you want to upgrade or not. (Knowing that Lotus always recommends upgrading) Greetings, Michel |------------------------+------------------------+------------------------| | | Nathan_Simpson@GOODYE| | | | ARNET | To: | | | | DOMINO400@midrange.co| | | 09/05/2002 02:31 PM | m | | | Please respond to | cc: | | | domino400 | Subject: | | | | upgrading to 5.11 | | | | from 510 | |------------------------+------------------------+------------------------| Hi, I just upgraded to 5.11 from 5.10 I looked at the Console when restarting the Domino Server and it answered NO to update address book. I will update manually but when I look in Domino Administrator and I look at the files section it say the pubnames.ntf file format is R4(20:0). Why isn't it R5(41:0). The only database that says R5(41:0) is the Offline Services Template. When I look at the Domino Directory DB it says based Template Name: StdR4PublicAddressBook but the ODS is 41. Is this all correct? If not what should it say?
