Hey Rob, Sounds like a Lotus Script thing. Were you able to open the hoax up in Designer and see a script? Also, are you saying that Trend missed the virus? Best Regards Fritz Hayes Atwater Associates | | I read the email. Researched snopes for the hoax and sent a reply to the | sender that it was BS. Then I tried to exit out of the received email and | that screen which asks you to send, send and save, save, or discard came | up. The was the first red flag - I didn't pull it up in edit mode. I | selected the option to discard. However, it still changed the sender in | my inbox from the relative to me. This was red flag #2. So I checked my | sent box and there was nothing in there. Ok. So I checked the log.nsf on | the server for mail routing events. BANG. This email got sent out to | everyone in my address book. | | Our email goes through one in point, and this one runs Trend's antivirus. | Then it gets routed to the various email servers. The email server I am | on, (of which I am the only user) is not currently running Trend. And the | virus protection on the PC hadn't been updated in awhile because it is set | to synchronize with work, and since I am VPN, you have to tell it to do | it. At work, it just does it. I ran the sync right after the email - | (yes I know that's a little late). |
