The information submitted is used to determine if a business need exists for supporting the change you are requesting. Complete the following information and return to the Rochester Support Center. To e-mail: Forward this completed form to: v40915@us.ibm.com To Fax: Fax this completed form to the attention of Jim Vessey at one of the following numbers: (507) 253-5124 or (507) 253-2982 Note: A reply can be expected within 90 days. Requested Information Request Title: Show us which users are accessing a particular Domino database. Provide a detailed description of request (including unique usage): Often we are trying to perform operating system type commands on a Domino database, such as saving, restoring, etc. Having someone accessing the database at this time may lock us out. We try DBCACHE FLUSH but the database is still locked. We need a method of seeing who is accessing a database so we may take steps to get them to let the database go. Priority (check applicable priority) ___ Urgent ___ High X___ Medium ___ Low If there is a deadline (date) for obtaining solution, when is it and why do you need it by that deadline? N/A Area where you believe the problem to be: (check applicable area) ___ Client Access ___ Database ___ General ___ Hardware ___ Language/Compiler X___ Lotus ___ Network Enable/Communications ___ Print/Fax ___ Save/Restore ___ Web Serving ___ Work Management ___ BRMS ___ Other: (provide more information here) Why is it important to your business to solve this request? What is the impact to your company if IBM does not provide a solution? Backup and recovery, implementing upgrades, etc to databases with minimal disruption to users. Select a requirement type: (Select one) X___ Long range or strategic (required to meet long-range needs) ___ Suggestion (you would like, but it is not critical) ___ Tactical (needed to solve a short-term problem) Do you have a suggested solution? Either upgrade the command SHOW DBS to show users of that database or create a new command, perhaps SHOW DBUSERS, to list users currently accessing a database. Also need this function in Domino Administrator. Currently you can go into Server, Status and see a list of users and the databases they are accessing, in the bottom window. There are two problems with this. One, you cannot sort by Database(s) open. Two the database name is not large enough. It only shows you the first 20 characters of the database. We are using a popular package called EtQ. We have multiple divisions. One divisions database may be: QUALITY30/SOLUTION/ARCHWORK.NSF. However this display will only show me QUALITY30/SOLUTION/A. This is confusing when you have multiple databases in this directory beginning with A.
