Scott,

I've been less than impressed with LEI. (1-Open pmr for a year now with no
resolution in site, and little to no serious activity on it. 2-If you
think anything could use BLOBS and whatnot from DB2 it would be this, but
they ain't 'aware'.) And for 'Real Time Activities' you need the 'key
stubs'.

We have an application in which a remote 400 used a remote data queue to
activate the LEIACT call to start a LEI activity. We had to go to a
scheduled activity because LEIACT is a piece of festering fetid fecal
matter. (Incident 1323678). If you avoid LEIACT, and use scheduled
activities, then it seems to do an okay job of getting data from remote
systems. Can you compromise and use scheduled activities?

Troy,

I don't think DECS is an option because the data change would be initiated
from the non-Domino iSeries to the Domino iSeries. I looked at DECS early
on in this project, but I did not like the need to have the key stub in the
Domino db. Plus it did not work quite the way I needed to access back-end
data. I may look into its 'big brother', Enterprise Integrator. What they
are offering in RNext with 'virtual' stuff looks real cool! Too bad they
aren't doing the same for DECS.

Thanks,
   Scott

Scott
Have you given DECS a thought, it comes bundled with Lotus Notes Domino.
With this product you can transfer data
from file to file on your iSeries box using a Notes Application. It is a
fairly simple program to use and depending on
what type of database you are using, ex(DB2) I forget the other databases
it supports, but I've used this program and
it can make life much easier. It sounds like you would be using ODBC, but
DECS is much faster. When someone
makes a change in one application that effects the database, you will see
the information immediately when you
look at it from your notes application. AND if I am wrong about this,
someone please let me know, if I'm right (as I think I am)
give it a look. PS you don't have to have Domino on both iSeries boxes.

Thanks
