Hello group

I am new to Notes Development and I am having trouble using the %include
directive with a .lss file I created in notepad.

In my Global Declarations for the program I'm using %INCLUDE "company.lss"
(that's the name of my .lss file) in this file
I will declare a constant as follows:

Public Const COMPANY_NAME$ = "MY COMPANY NAME" 'COMPANY NAME

along with some other constants, I was just testing this one first to see if
it worked. In my Form I have a field call compname,
I've tried to make this field name equal to the constant I defined, but it just
keeps returning a 1 when I preview it in Notes. I
have tried
to look at documentation on this compiler directive and on .LSS files and I
seem to come up short. I'm trying to move this
Constant
into the field by using the field name = COMPANY_NAME$ (I'm just not sure if
I'm putting it in the right place. I have tried this
with a
couple of other fields also and keep getting a 1 returned in its place. Can
someone please help, or just help me understand the .lss
file or if there is something that I'm completely leaving out please let me
know. This problem has been driving me nuts Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
