Thanks for the info... and careful who you nominate, I have a bad habit of not being able to keep up with such things. OK here's the fix for my problem. I don't know which fixed it, we did A then B then tested. A. SF65062 B. Deleted the Domino control groups and did INZBRM *DATA C. Tested without any modifications to control groups D. Re-tweaked the control group after initial testing was good. --------------------------------- Kirk Goins IBM Certified AS/400 Technical Solutions DataMirror High Availability Certified Pacific Information Systems - An IBM Premier Business Partner 503-674-2985 kirkg@pacinfosys.com "WE KNOW TECHNOLOGY" --------------------------------- Bob Larkin <blarkin@wt.net> Sent by: owner-domino400@midrange.com 04/02/01 09:10 PM Please respond to DOMINO400 To: DOMINO400@midrange.com cc: Subject: Re: Problem with Domino and BRMS We are using BRMS (v4r4) with domino Save while active, under OS/400 v4r5. Domino is at 5.0.6a. We are using this with an IBM 3494 with 6 3590-E1A drives, attached via serial connection for the 3494, each of the 6 drives are attached to two 820 4 way DSD boxes with about 1.3T per box. that said, we are new to BRMS and have had a lot of learning to do. Some of our gotchas - Ethernet connection to 3494 is 10M, not 100. Also, after changing to 10M communications, we sstill had problems communicating with the 3494 on an isolated network. Because of time constraints, we wenr to the serial connection, and it works well. Make sure you have the latest PTF on BRMS. We have been burned by this. Also make sure all BRMS, Save/Restore PTFs are current. Carefully check the backup's job log. There are errors in the job log that I feel are important, but do not appear in the BRMS log. Make sure you have IBM support. There are fine folks such as MV and WS (You know who you are!), that are excellent at tracking down problems, finding our goofs, and listening to ideas for improvements. Rumor has it that BRMS 5.1 is going to be neat, and eliminate some of the little things that bug me. Now if we could get a BRMS-L mailing list going. I nominate Kirk! D I hear a second?
