Turning off DNS lookup really helped our performance

Thought I'd share this with you.  We were having a serious problem
accessing web sites on our dmz.  Seemed like it would take 40 seconds to
bring up the session the first time.  If you stayed active after that it
was okay.  If you let your browser sit for 30 minutes or so you had the big
delay again.

The sniffer wasn't catching it until we told it to catch all traffic and
not just http stuff.  Then we noticed a 28 second delay in reverse dns
lookup.  Some here were about to change some settings on the 400 when I
suggested just changing Domino.  This we did by changing the Server
document, Internet Protocols tab, HTTP subtab, DNS lookup to Disabled.
Made a WORLD of difference!  According to the help all that you gain by
having it on is that your logs will contain the server/client name instead
of their ip address.  Small sacrifice to pay for such a drastic difference
in performance.  The help also told that it can make a performance
difference - go figure.

Suggested improvement for Notes online help:  Searching by 'performance'
yields many hits.  One hit is 'Improving Web server performance'.  I think
that the above is significant enough to be included.
